Bayer Leverkusen have announced that Nathan Tella has extended his stay at the club by signing a new long-term contract.

The Nigeria international, who joined the Bundesliga champions from Sky Bet Championship side Southampton in 2023, has now committed his future to the club until 30 June 2031.

His previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2028 before the extension was agreed.

The 26-year-old described his decision to remain at Leverkusen as a reflection of his strong bond with the club and his satisfaction with life in Germany.
