Super Eagles forward, Nathan Tella, is a major doubt for Bayer Leverkusen ahead of their Bundesliga home clash against Hamburger SV due to injury.
Tella was unavailable for last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to VfB Stuttgart after suffering a muscle strain.
According to Kicker, Leverkusen are also monitoring the fitness of Cameroon striker Christian Kofane, who picked up a shoulder injury in the same match against Stuttgart.
Tella has endured a difficult campaign with injuries, which has limited his availability and forced him to miss 17 matches so far this season.
The 26-year-old has scored one goal and provided four assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances for Die Werkself.
Kasper Hjulmand’s side must beat Hamburg and also hope that both Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim drop points if they are to secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
