Parma Calcio 1913 suffered a dramatic collapse after conceding two own goals in quick succession, eventually falling 4–1 to Torino FC in their Serie A clash on Friday.
Giovanni Simeone wasted little time in putting Torino ahead, striking in the third minute to register his second goal in three matches. Parma responded well and restored parity in the 20th minute through Mateo Pellegrino.
However, the visitors’ resistance crumbled shortly after the restart. In the 55th minute, defender Enrico Delprato inadvertently diverted a shot from Che Adams into his own net to hand Torino the lead again.
Just two minutes later, Parma’s misery deepened when Mandela Keita was unfortunate to see Simeone’s effort rebound off the crossbar, strike him on the goal line, and roll into the net for another own goal.
Torino sealed the victory in stoppage time as Duván Zapata finished confidently to make it 4–1.
The result marked only Torino’s second victory in their last six league outings and lifted them two places to 13th in the standings.
Parma, meanwhile, saw their five-match unbeaten run come to an end and remain 12th, just one point ahead of their opponents.
