The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigeria Police Force have reaffirmed their commitment to deeper collaboration in the fight against corruption and financial crimes in Kwara State.
According to a statement released on Tuesday on the anti-graft agency’s official social media platforms, the Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC’s Ilorin office, ACE I Victoria Ugo-Ali, paid a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Police Command Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo.
The meeting, held at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, was part of efforts to strengthen longstanding cooperation between the two security institutions.
Ugo-Ali described the police as indispensable partners in the anti-corruption drive, noting that effective law enforcement relies heavily on inter-agency support.
“The Nigeria Police is a critical stakeholder and a strategic partner in the anti-corruption crusade,” she said.
“The success of the EFCC in tackling economic and financial crimes largely depends on the support and synergy of the police, whom I refer to as the foundation of law enforcement operations in the country.”
The visit also served as an opportunity for Ugo-Ali, who recently assumed leadership of the Ilorin Zonal Directorate, to familiarise herself with senior police officials in the state.
Both agencies reiterated their commitment to improving cooperation, intelligence sharing, and coordinated responses as they work to curb corruption and financial crimes across Kwara.
