Christian Ordonez struck deep into stoppage time to secure a dramatic 1–0 victory for Parma over Bologna, while goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi produced two sensational late saves in a heated derby that saw both teams finish with 10 men.
The local rivals came into the game in poor form. Bologna had managed just one win and three draws in their previous 11 Serie A matches, including a heavy 3–0 loss to AC Milan. Lukasz Skorupski returned from suspension, and new signing Joao Mario was handed a starting debut.
Parma were also struggling, missing several players through injury and suspension. After goalless draws with Napoli and Genoa, they had suffered heavy defeats to Atalanta and Juventus.
Bologna started brighter, with Charalampos Lykogiannis and Jhon Lucumi trying their luck from distance. However, the match took a dramatic turn in the 22nd minute.
Mandela Keita burst forward after winning possession in midfield and was clipped from behind by Tommaso Pobega. Initially shown a yellow card, the referee upgraded it to red after a VAR review for a dangerous challenge.
Despite the numerical advantage, Parma failed to dominate. Adrian Bernabé’s free kick drifted wide, while Thijs Dallinga’s header lacked power to trouble Corvi.
Early in the second half, Bologna squandered a huge chance. Federico Bernardeschi knocked down a cross from Lewis Ferguson, but Dallinga blasted over from close range.
Parma thought they had taken the lead from a Bernabé free kick, but the effort was ruled out. Santiago Castro accidentally headed into his own net, yet the goal was disallowed because Mateo Pellegrino, who was offside, was judged to be interfering with play.
The match then evened out numerically when Parma’s Mariano Troilo was sent off for a second yellow card after leading with his arm in an aerial challenge.
Bologna pushed forward late on. Bernardeschi’s free kick skimmed the top corner, and substitute Riccardo Orsolini struck the post with an acrobatic volley.
Just as the hosts pressed for a winner, Parma snatched victory in the 94th minute. Ordonez unleashed a quick low shot that slipped through Lucumi’s legs, leaving Skorupski unsighted as the ball crept into the bottom corner.
There was still time for late drama, as Corvi produced two remarkable reaction saves within a minute. He first blocked a point-blank header from his own teammate Delprato, then tipped Orsolini’s volley away from under the crossbar to seal a memorable win for Parma.
