Coventry City have secured the services of Nigerian midfielder, Frank Onyeka, on a loan deal from Premier League outfit Brentford.
The agreement includes an obligation to make the move permanent if the Sky Blues earn promotion to the Premier League.
Onyeka spent the previous season on loan at Bundesliga side Augsburg, where he featured in 31 league matches. Now, the Nigeria international is eager to embrace his new challenge with Coventry.
“I’m very happy to be here,” Onyeka told the club’s official website.
“I’m a strong midfielder, I’m a winner and I always want to fight for my teammates. My aim is to give 100 per cent, bring my experience and help the team get promoted to the Premier League and bring glory to the city again. I’m very excited to get going and I’m ready to give my all for Coventry.”
The 28-year-old joined Brentford in the summer of 2021 and has made 75 Premier League appearances for the club, with 87 across all competitions.
Onyeka played a pivotal role in the Bees’ top-flight campaigns, helping the West London side achieve their highest-ever Premier League finish, ninth place in the 2022-23 season.
