Super Eagles centre-back, Semi Ajayi, has reiterated that Nigeria’s sole focus is lifting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
The three-time African champions are set to battle Morocco on Wednesday night in Rabat, with a place in the final at stake.
In an interview with Footy Africa, the Hull City defender revealed that the squad remains motivated by the disappointment of losing the last AFCON final to hosts Ivory Coast and is determined to make things right this time.
“The ambition is there, the goal is the same, we know how painful it was to not go all the way the last time and we’re looking to make amends for that,” Ajayi said.
“Like I said, we still got a semifinal to do it and we are really hungry, ready and focused to make sure we fulfill the ambition.
“We can always improve. No performance is perfect and whatever we need to fix we can do that on the training field before the next game.”
Ajayi added that the team’s mindset remains strong, with the players committed to correcting any shortcomings as they push toward continental glory.
