New Year: Rivers won’t fall into political war, says Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has turned to prayer amid rising political tension, expressing confidence that the state will not descend into another phase of political conflict.

The governor said 2026 holds promise for greater prosperity for Rivers State and its people, stressing that his administration is stepping into the new year with renewed strength, hope and confidence.

Fubara gave the assurance in his New Year message shortly after a crossover service at the Government House Chapel of Everlasting Grace in Port Harcourt.

Reflecting on the past two years of his administration, the governor admitted that the journey had been challenging but maintained that the government remains optimistic about the future.

The governor urged residents to remain calm and not be disturbed by reports suggesting instability or war, assuring them that his administration remains committed to protecting and promoting the interests of Rivers State.

While acknowledging that not all expectations had been met over the last two years, Fubara expressed confidence that the new year would bring tangible progress and development across the state.
