The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, made this known in a statement issued to journalists on Tuesday in Ibadan.

According to him, the incident was reported at the Alakia Adelubi Police Division on Thursday, prompting an immediate investigation by officers.

Olayinka explained that initial findings showed the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor after giving her an intoxicating drink.

He added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Femi Haruna, has directed that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police has warned that the Command will not tolerate any violent acts against women or offences targeted at women or any member of society,” Olayinka stated.

He assured residents that the Police Command remains resolute in protecting lives and property across the state, while also encouraging the public to continue sharing useful information that can assist security agencies in preventing and detecting crimes.
