The Stallions struck twice in stoppage time to overturn a stubborn Equatorial Guinea side that battled bravely despite being reduced to 10 men.

Burkina Faso pushed hard to take advantage of their numerical superiority and thought they had broken the deadlock in the 71st minute when Lassina Traoré scored. However, the goal was overturned following a VAR review.

Against the run of play, Equatorial Guinea stunned their opponents by taking the lead in the 85th minute through Marvin Aniebo.

The Stallions responded dramatically in stoppage time, with substitute György Menongo grabbing the equaliser in the fifth minute of added time.

Just three minutes later, Edmond Tapsoba rose highest to head home the winning goal, sealing an incredible turnaround and sparking wild celebrations among Burkina Faso’s players and fans.
