Cameroon forward, Vincent Aboubakar, has stirred debate after declaring that Beşiktaş striker, Tammy Abraham is a superior player to Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen played a crucial role in helping Galatasaray clinch the domestic double last season and also finished as the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig.
The 26-year-old has continued his fine form, scoring nine goals in 13 matches across all competitions this term for the Black Sea Storm.
Abraham, who arrived at Beşiktaş on loan from AS Roma during the summer transfer window, has found the net five times in 14 league appearances for the Black Eagles.
When asked to compare the two strikers, Aboubakar told Ertem Şener YT, as reported by FutbolArena:
“Based on the football they play, Tammy Abraham.”
He emphasized that the system surrounding a player plays a major role in performance:
“Because he knows football well. The team needs to use the player well. If he can’t score, you need to improve around him. Since Galatasaray works well, Osimhen scores goals. Put Abraham in Galatasaray. He’d score a lot. He’d play better than Osimhen.”
