I have video evidence of Mohbad’s killing, Yomi Fabiyi claims

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has claimed that he possesses a video that shows the circumstances surrounding the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In a social media post, Fabiyi appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in what he described as a grave matter.

He explained that the video was sent to him in what he believes was an attempt to extort him.

“President Bola Tinubu, I wrote to you in May 2025 that Mohbad was murdered. Part of the video was sent to me in an apparent attempt to collect money by the younger brother. Your office wrote and gave a directive to the Inspector General of Police that they should investigate, harmonize, and prosecute,” Fabiyi said.

The actor further claimed that investigators at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja had reviewed the case file and identified what he referred to as key suspects involved in an alleged cover-up.

“As of November 2025, after the FCID in Abuja noted key suspects already complicit in the alleged cover-up, the wife of the deceased turned herself in Abuja. Now they want to cover it up. They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests,” Fabiyi added.

He also accused certain police officers of attempting to intimidate him because of the evidence he holds.

“This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you. I don’t know why it is wrong to be loyal to your government. I am putting my life on the line to stand by this government and to speak the truth,” Fabiyi said.

The video quickly sparked reactions on social media, with many urging Fabiyi to submit the alleged evidence to the authorities rather than airing it publicly.

Olu Olabode commented, “This is a very serious allegation. If Yomi Fabiyi truly has any evidence, the right thing is to submit it directly to the authorities, not social media.”

Rivers Trending wrote, “People are dying, and justice must be served. If Yomi’s evidence is real, the authorities must open the case fully with independent investigators.”

Another user, OkochaCFC, added, “Is President Tinubu an investigator? Share it with police and maybe release it online to force their hand.”

Several others called for Fabiyi to make the clip public. User pizzle pizzle said, “He should post the video online so we can judge from there.” Oyetunde added, “Post the videos if you got it.”

Some questioned his safety, noting that he recorded the video by the roadside, while others accused him of seeking attention. whisperingheart asked, “You have the video but you can’t release it. Why?” Rickky added, “If this is clout chasing, he better stop.”

These latest claims come amid ongoing controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023. Lagos Police and a coroner’s inquest concluded that the singer died from a severe allergic reaction to injections administered by an auxiliary nurse at his home.

The nurse, who admitted to giving Tetanus Toxoid, Paracetamol IV, and Ceftriaxone IV, was identified as the principal suspect.

Investigations also revealed that Mohbad had sustained an injury during a violent altercation with a childhood friend, which was improperly handled.

The coroner ultimately ruled the death a result of medical negligence and ordered the prosecution of the nurse involved.

Probes additionally examined claims that fellow artists Naira Marley and Sam Larry bullied and threatened Mohbad before his death, based on video footage and witness testimonies.

Mohbad was initially buried the day after his death, sparking public outrage and leading to the exhumation of his body for further autopsy and toxicology tests.
