Akor laments Super Eagles W’Cup miss

Super Eagles forward, Akor Adams, has voiced his frustration over Nigeria’s inability to secure a spot at the 2026 World Cup.

The team’s hopes were dashed on Sunday after a tense African play-off final against DR Congo ended in a penalty shootout defeat.

Akor, who plays for Sevilla and was on the scoresheet in Nigeria’s 4-1 semi-final victory over Gabon, shared his feelings on Wednesday through his official X handle, admitting the setback cuts deeply.

“As a Nigerian nothing hurts more than missing out on what could bring the most joy to my people amidst all happening in our dear country.”
