Liverpool midfielder, Florian Wirtz, has revealed that he is gradually returning to his top form ahead of today’s Premier League showdown against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The 22-year-old shone in Liverpool’s 1–0 victory over Real Madrid, playing a key role in chance creation and helping maintain the high-pressing intensity that has become a hallmark under manager Arne Slot.
Speaking to the club’s website, Wirtz shared his optimism about his current form.
“Of course, the numbers aren’t right at the moment, but I simply try to give my best in every game, I always do and I’m happy that I can create some chances,” he said.
“I simply enjoyed playing (against Real Madrid) because I wasn’t sure if I would even play. That’s why I was happy to be able to play.
“I think I already have a good connection with my teammates on the pitch. Hopefully, we can score more goals in the coming weeks and months.”
