Cagliari earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw away at Como, with goalkeeper Elia Caprile producing a string of decisive saves to preserve the point, while Alvaro Morata’s frustration boiled over during the clash.
The hosts, unbeaten since August 30 and coming off a solid 0-0 stalemate against league leaders Napoli, were missing key players including Sergi Roberto, Edoardo Goldaniga, and Alberto Dossena, with Marc Oliver Kempf sidelined due to an ankle injury.
On the other side, Cagliari had not tasted victory since September 19 and traveled without Alessandro Deiola, Marko Rog, Joseph Liteta, Andrea Belotti, Giuseppe Ciocci, and Nicola Pintus.
Cagliari seemed to break the deadlock in the 19th minute when Marco Palestra volleyed a cross toward goal, and a deflection off Alex Valle wrong-footed Jean Butez. However, the effort was ruled out by VAR for a foul in the buildup.
Como threatened through Jayden Addai, who narrowly missed a Maxi Perrone cross, before forcing Caprile into a low, near-post stop.
The Cagliari keeper then denied a powerful Nico Paz volley from distance, and moments later made a remarkable reflex save to tip a point-blank header from Morata over the bar.
Caprile continued to frustrate the hosts with another fingertip stop from a Paz thunderbolt, while Morata, losing patience, clashed with Yerry Mina, earning a booking for a shoulder-barge, and immediately requested a substitution, acknowledging the futility of the attack.
Late attempts from Como, including a rushed effort by Zito Luvumbo, were kept out as Cagliari held firm to claim a vital point on the road.
