Idrissa Touré’s late header sealed a historic 1-0 victory for Pisa over Cremonese on Friday, earning the club its first Serie A win in more than 30 years.
Back in Italy’s top flight after a 34-year absence, Pisa last celebrated a league win in May 1991, when it defeated Bari by the same scoreline.
Eager to end their wait for a victory, Pisa dominated much of the first half, though Cremonese fought back strongly after the break, creating several dangerous chances.
Touré, however, made the decisive difference with 15 minutes remaining, rising to meet a Mattéo Tramini cross and nodding home his first goal of the season.
The win lifted Pisa to 15th on the Serie A table, while Cremonese remained 10th, five points clear of their opponents.
