Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare, found the back of the net again as Wolverhampton Wanderers fell 4–3 to Chelsea in a thrilling Carabao Cup fourth-round clash on Wednesday night.
The Nigerian forward, who joined Wolves from Genk in the summer, has now scored two goals in two games for his new club.
Arokodare reduced the deficit to 3–1 just three minutes into the second half after Hee Chan Hwang pressed high to win possession in Chelsea’s half and slipped the ball through for him to side-foot home.
Chelsea had earlier raced to a commanding 3–0 lead in the opening period through Andrey Santos (5th minute), Tyrique George (15th minute), and Estevao (41st minute).
Despite Wolves’ spirited comeback, Jamie Gittens sealed the victory for Chelsea with a late strike in the 89th minute. The Blues, however, finished the game with 10 men after Liam Delap was shown a red card in the 86th minute.
Elsewhere, Arsenal defeated Swansea 2–0 with goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka, Crystal Palace stunned Liverpool 3–0, Manchester City triumphed 3–1 over Swansea, and Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2–0.
