Reece James withdraws from England squad over injury

Chelsea captain Reece James has been forced to pull out of England’s squad for this month’s international fixtures after sustaining an injury in the match against Liverpool, according to BBC Sport.

The right-back, who was included in Thomas Tuchel’s initial selection for games against Wales and Latvia, will now miss the upcoming ties.

James, a consistent performer for the Three Lions since making his debut in 2020, has earned praise for his defensive strength and attacking flair, featuring prominently in England’s Euro 2020 and World Cup qualifying campaigns.

In his absence, Manchester City youngster Nico O’Reilly has been handed his first senior call-up, stepping up from the Under-21 side.
