Bournemouth midfielder, Alex Scott and Arsenal defender, Ezri Konsa have withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their clash with Czechia after returning to their respective clubs for treatment.
Scott is nursing a thigh injury and is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines, according to sources who spoke to ESPN.
The midfielder made his full international debut in England’s 7-0 victory over Croatia, while Konsa also started the game.
Their withdrawals have further depleted Thomas Tuchel’s squad, with Manchester City’s Rico Lewis brought into the team after helping England’s Under-21 side qualify for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Lewis, who is seeking his sixth senior international cap, has been added to strengthen Tuchel’s options ahead of the Czechia encounter.
England still have several midfield alternatives, including Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Morgan Gibbs-White, Eberechi Eze and James Garner.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has also operated in midfield, is another option available to Tuchel.
In defence, Tuchel can call on Marc Guéhi, Trevoh Chalobah and Jarrad Branthwaite as possible replacements for Konsa.
Scott’s absence is also a blow to Bournemouth, who return to Premier League action against Chelsea this weekend, while Arsenal are set to host Leeds United.
