Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu, delivered another outstanding performance as he scored and assisted in Trabzonspor’s dominant 4-0 victory over Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday night.
The Nigerian striker led from the front, showcasing his sharpness and composure in front of goal as Trabzonspor extended their unbeaten run in style.
Onuachu played a key role early in the encounter, setting up the opener in the 12th minute after linking up brilliantly with his teammates to unlock the Kayserispor defence.
His involvement injected confidence into the Trabzonspor attack, who went on to take full control of the game, with two more goals coming before the break.
Onuachu, who is on loan from English club Southampton, sealed a near-perfect evening by scoring Trabzonspor’s fourth goal from the penalty spot in added time, calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
His contribution underlined his growing importance to Abdullah Avcı’s side, with fans chanting his name as he celebrated his sixth league goal of the campaign.
The 30-year-old has now scored in three consecutive matches, continuing his rich vein of form that has made him one of the most prolific strikers in the Turkish topflight this season.
His blend of aerial strength, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing has made him a nightmare for defenders.
Friday’s emphatic win lifted Trabzonspor to second place in the league standings with 17 points, just behind reigning champions Galatasaray.
With Onuachu firing on all cylinders, the Black Sea Storm will be confident of maintaining their push for the title as the season progresses.
