The National Youth Service Corps has fixed Wednesday, September 24, 2025, for the commencement of the Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course across all orientation camps nationwide.
In a statement released on Monday via its official Facebook page, the scheme disclosed that registration of Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) will run until Friday, September 26, with the swearing-in ceremony slated for the same day. The three-week exercise is expected to end with a passing-out ceremony on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
However, the statement clarified that the Kwara State camp will open later than others, beginning on September 30 and concluding on October 20, 2025.
The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, urged PCMs to report only to the camps indicated in their call-up letters, stressing the importance of compliance with all registration requirements.
“Foreign-trained graduates must present their international passports and original copies of uploaded documents. Monotechnic and polytechnic graduates are required to bring their National Diploma certificates for registration,” Nafiu stated.
He cautioned prospective corps members against presenting forged documents, warning that offenders would face prosecution. He also addressed cases of lost call-up letters, noting that corps members who collected theirs from schools must obtain a police report and affidavit before returning to their institutions, while those who printed theirs online can simply reprint.
On safety measures, the NYSC boss strongly advised against night travel.
“Once it is 6:00pm, prospective corps members are enjoined to break their journeys and spend the night at military or police barracks, NYSC secretariats or corps lodges nearest to their disembarkation point,” he said.
The scheme also urged PCMs to patronize only approved motor parks and licensed transport companies to avoid falling victim to criminal activities.
Brigadier-General Nafiu further noted that married, pregnant, and nursing mothers posted outside their spouses’ states of residence are allowed to complete the orientation exercise in their home states if they can provide proof of marriage, identity of their husbands, and evidence of residence.
“For registration, corps members must present their original call-up letters, statements of result or certificates, school identity cards, and certificates of medical fitness issued by government or military hospitals. Medical and allied health graduates are also expected to provide proof of registration with their professional bodies,” he added.
The NYSC Director-General concluded by wishing all participants success, saying, “We wish all prospective corps members safe travels to their various camps and a fulfilling service year.”
