The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has extended his felicitations to former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, following the approval of his nomination as the new Olubadan of Ibadan.
The congratulatory message was conveyed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Emir’s spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.
Governor Seyi Makinde had, on Wednesday, confirmed Ladoja’s nomination as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“Kings are chosen by Almighty Allah with His divine authority and grace, just like the case of the new Olubadan.
“He had held positions of authority at various levels before Almighty Allah, in His divine mercies, made him the traditional ruler of Ibadan land,” Sulu-Gambari said.
Speaking on behalf of the Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, the Emir congratulated Ladoja and urged unity and cooperation to ensure a successful reign.
He specifically called on the Olubadan-in-Council, the people of Ibadan, the Oyo State Traditional Rulers Council, and the state government to work hand in hand with the new monarch “to make his reign exemplary.”
