The Federal Government has announced an extension of the application period for its ongoing recruitment into paramilitary services under the Ministry of Interior.

The recruitment portal, which was originally scheduled to close on Monday, August 4, 2025, will now remain open until Monday, August 11, 2025.

The Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (retd), stated in a Sunday announcement that the one-week extension aims to provide additional opportunity for prospective applicants.

“Applicants are hereby reminded that the authentic portal address remains https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng,” Jibrin said. He further emphasized, “The Board wishes to reiterate that its recruitment process is free of charge as well as remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process.”

The extension comes as part of efforts to accommodate more candidates seeking enlistment into any of the paramilitary services under the Board’s supervision. The CDCFIB oversees recruitment for several key security agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Immigration Service.

Prospective applicants are advised to utilize the extended period to complete their applications through the official portal while being cautious of fraudulent recruitment schemes. The Board maintains that the entire process remains completely free, warning against any requests for payment in connection with the recruitment exercise.

This extension follows similar patterns in previous recruitment cycles where the government adjusted timelines to ensure wider participation across the country. The move is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture through transparent and merit-based recruitment into the paramilitary services.
