Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has unveiled plans to begin the rehabilitation of inner roads at the popular Bodija Market in Ibadan, a move aimed at enhancing infrastructure within one of the city’s major commercial hubs.
Speaking through the Special Adviser on Market Matters, Chief Babatunde Tijani, the governor made this known during a formal presentation of an 18-seater bus to the Ibadan Foodstuffs Sellers Association at Bodija International Market.
According to Tijani, the newly donated vehicle will aid the smooth movement of the union’s executive members within and outside the state.
He explained that the gesture was in line with Governor Makinde’s ongoing commitment to empower and support market associations across Oyo State.
Tijani noted that “the donation reflects the cordial relationship between the Makinde administration and market leaders,” while calling for sustained collaboration and harmony among market groups and trade associations.
In his address, Chief Ismael Aderemi Jimoh, the Babaloja of Bodija International Market, extended heartfelt thanks to the governor for the donation, describing it as a welcome development.
He further assured the administration of the association’s continuous support, stating “the association’s unwavering backing for his administration.”
