The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Plateau State chapter, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, has passed away.
According to The PUNCH, Fr. Lubo reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, June 15, 2025, at a hospital in Jos, the state capital.
His death followed a brief illness, which sources say may have been linked to an accident he was involved in the previous week.
Multiple sources in Jos confirmed the news of his passing, while the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos officially announced his death in a statement signed by its Archdiocesan Chancellor, Daniel Gyang.
“With deep sorrow but in full submission to the will of God, we announce the passing unto eternal glory of Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Polycarp Lubo, who died in the early hours of Sunday, June 15,” the statement read.
The Archbishop extended condolences to Fr. Lubo’s family, the Plateau State CAN chapter, the Catholic clergy, and all members of the Archdiocese. Special mention was made of the parishioners of St. William’s Parish, Zawan, where Lubo served as Parish Priest and Dean of the Zawan Deanery.
“May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace,” the statement concluded.
