Why Ronaldo can’t return EPL – Ex Chelsea star Geremi

Former Chelsea midfielder, Geremi Njitap, has shared his thoughts on why Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to make a return to the Premier League.

Ronaldo, who has enjoyed two separate spells at Manchester United, carved out a legendary career with the English giants, winning multiple Premier League titles, Champions League trophies, and claiming Ballon d’Or honours.

His second stint at Old Trafford ended on a sour note, with his contract being terminated before he made the switch to the Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr.

Now 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to perform at a high level and recently added the UEFA Nations League title to his international achievements with Portugal.

As speculation swirls over his future, with some rumours hinting at a possible Premier League comeback, Geremi has poured cold water on that idea.

Speaking to BoyleSports, he said, “The Premier League is too demanding, he is 40 years old and it wouldn’t be the same as doing it once in a while in international games.

“I think he’s going into his last year in football and I can’t see him spending that in the Premier League, it’s too competitive and a lot more demanding than he has been used to in the last two years.”
