Nigerian entertainer Lawal Michael, better known as Nasboi, has reaffirmed his commitment to his nationwide campaign just days after surviving a road accident during the course of his journey.

The singer and comedian, who launched a bold 36-day tour across the country in a bid to secure a verse from Afrobeats star Davido, says the mission has taken on a deeper meaning.

Speaking from Abuja on Tuesday, Nasboi described the accident, which occurred eight days into his campaign, as “terrifying,” but emphasized that he remains undeterred.

“Yes, the accident happened. I’m alive, and for that, I am grateful,” he said. “It was scary, no doubt. But this journey isn’t just about music anymore—it’s about resilience, about finishing what I started, no matter the odds.”

What began as a creative plea for a collaboration has now evolved into what Nasboi describes as a personal mission of perseverance and purpose.

“I’ve seen the concerns, the criticisms, even the backlash,” he noted. “But I refuse to let fear or public opinion define this moment. This is now bigger than a verse from Davido.”

The campaign, which has drawn attention across social media, has been marked by Nasboi’s grassroots engagement and a growing following of fans inspired by his determination.

“This is about showing the world—and myself—that when I set my heart on something, I finish it,” he stated. “I hope someone out there finds the courage to keep pushing forward, even when the road gets tough.”

He concluded with a powerful message of motivation: “We don’t rise by convenience, but by conviction.”
