Al-Nassr’s manager, Stefano Pioli, has revealed the reason behind captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence in their recent Saudi Pro League match against Al-Taawoun on Friday.
Ronaldo did not feature as Al-Nassr settled for a 1-1 draw at home. The match, held at Al-Awwal Park, saw goals from Otávio and R. Martínez, ensuring both sides shared the points.
After the game, Pioli told the media that the Portugal international missed the fixture due to illness.
“Ronaldo is absent because he is suffering from a cold,” Pioli explained.
Currently, Al-Nassr are fourth in the Saudi Pro League standings, having accumulated 64 points from 32 matches.
The Knights of Najd have already missed out on the league title, with Al-Ittihad recently being crowned champions.
Al-Nassr’s upcoming fixture is scheduled for Wednesday, where they will face Al-Khaleej.
