The letter of approval was conveyed by Fatima Umar, Director of the Polytechnic Programmes Department at NBTE, who outlined that the new additions are in response to evolving national priorities and global demands.

The newly accredited programmes include Higher National Diplomas in Crime Management, Cooperative Economics and Management, Taxation, Cybersecurity and Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence, Strategic Communication and Media Studies, as well as Film and Multimedia Production. Additionally, a National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning was approved.

Wada explained that while NBTE commended the institution for its commitment to quality and innovation, it also emphasized the need to address some operational areas such as departmental funding, infrastructure, and technical equipment. He noted that the Polytechnic is already making progress in aligning these areas with NBTE standards.

Reacting to the development, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Sani Usman, described the accreditation as a clear endorsement of the school’s ability to provide top-tier technical and vocational education.
