The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 5, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi, has been kidnapped, with his abductors demanding a N100 million ransom for his release.
According to Vanguard, a family source disclosed that Adepoyigi was seized around 10 p.m. on Monday in Ifon town while parking his car at his residence. The assailants reportedly attacked him with sticks before bundling him away. His wife, who heard his cries for help, rushed out only to find that he had been taken.
The kidnappers have since contacted the family, demanding the hefty ransom. “Yes, the gunmen have contacted the family members and have demanded N100 million to secure his release,” the source said. “We are still negotiating with them; we have not really agreed on the amount to be paid. But we have told them to reduce the ransom to a reasonable amount.”
