Premium Politics reported on Monday, that the 27 PDP lawmakers defected, citing internal divisions within the party, as the reason for their defection.

The defected lawmakers, led by Amaewhule, had previously initiated impeachment proceedings against Fubara before the timely intervention of President Tinubu, which stalled the process.

Meanwhile, many political players and the general public believe that their defection and the initial impeachment issue were fuelled by the crisis between the two political leaders.
