Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has pledged the support of the state for President Bola Tinubu’s bid to secure another term in office in the 2027 presidential election.
Radda made the commitment on Saturday at the People’s Square in Katsina during the inauguration and flag-off of the Katsina State chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a group campaigning for Tinubu’s re-election.
The governor described Katsina as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress, noting that the party has an established structure across the state’s 34 local government areas.
“Katsina State is an APC state. Every elected person in Katsina State is a member of the All Progressives Congress, and I want to assure you that Katsina State has a special attachment to President Bola Tinubu,” Radda said.
He also urged residents to continue supporting the Tinubu administration, particularly its economic policies, which he said had increased the financial resources available to state governments and strengthened the autonomy of local governments.
According to Radda, the reforms introduced by the Federal Government have enabled state governors to implement more development projects for their people.
“President Bola Tinubu came with a lot of reforms which have enabled state governors to do a lot of good work for the people of our states. We should remain ever grateful to President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
The governor further assured the President that Katsina would remain firmly behind his re-election campaign.
“President Bola Tinubu, I want you to be rest assured that Katsina State is your state and will not let you down. We will support you, our people will support you, Insha Allah,” Radda added.
Speaking on behalf of the founder of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi urged members to intensify their grassroots mobilisation efforts.
Pondi encouraged the campaigners to take the movement to wards, communities, markets and households across the state.
Meanwhile, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the party as a united family and called for cooperation between the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement and the existing APC structures.
Campaign vehicles were subsequently handed over to coordinators representing the movement across the state’s 34 local government areas.
