According to Usman, the police were prioritising support for the families of the deceased, medical care for the injured and continued operations to track members of the bandit group who fled the scene.

“Our immediate priority remains supporting the affected families, caring for the wounded and sustaining follow-up operations against fleeing elements,” he said.

The command said it would provide additional information as investigations and assessments of the incident progressed.

“Further details will be communicated as they are verified,” Usman added.
