Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappé, has touched down in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations Group A clash between Morocco and Mali.
French daily L’Équipe reported on Friday that the French superstar traveled alongside his parents and younger brother, Ethan, taking advantage of a brief break from his club commitments.
“Mbappé accepted an invitation from his close friend Achraf Hakimi, with whom he shares a long-standing personal and professional bond dating back to their time together at Paris Saint-Germain.
“During his stay, Mbappé is expected to visit the Moroccan team’s delegation and spend time with Hakimi, who is nearing a return to action after recovering from an ankle injury sustained in early November,” L’Équipe added.
The report further mentioned that Mbappé is likely to stay in Morocco until Monday, December 29, when Real Madrid resumes training. He may also take in additional AFCON fixtures during his visit.
Morocco currently tops Group A with three points after a 2–0 victory over Comoros, while Mali and Zambia drew 1–1 in their opening encounter.
