Former Ivory Coast star, Yaya Touré, has expressed his delight over Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo’s decision to join Manchester City during this January transfer window.
Semenyo will don the iconic No. 42 jersey at the Etihad, famously worn by Touré during his time at the club.
Taking to X, Yaya congratulated the forward, applauding both his transfer and the fact that the shirt will continue its African legacy.
“Antoine, a short message to say congratulations to your move to Man City. An incredible move and achievement.
“The number forty-two is a very special number, and I’m proud you have chose New Jersey, knowing it will continue its African heritage, and I know it’s exceptional hands. All the very best.”
Semenyo arrives at City in scintillating form, having netted 10 Premier League goals in 20 appearances for Bournemouth this season.
