Wydad AC and Al Ain have become the latest casualties in the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, bowing out after back-to-back defeats in Group G.

Both sides struggled against European heavyweights Manchester City and Juventus, who have now sealed early progression to the next round.

Wydad’s campaign began with a 2-0 loss to Manchester City, followed by a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Juventus on Sunday.

Al Ain fared even worse, crushed 5-0 by the Italians in their opener before suffering a brutal 6-0 thrashing from City.

With two straight losses apiece, both clubs are now mathematically out of the running and will head into their final group game on Thursday with nothing more than pride at stake.

Their exit follows those of Ulsan HD, Auckland City, Los Angeles FC, Pachuca, and Urawa Red Diamonds, all of whom had already been eliminated earlier in the tournament.
