WWCQ: Aduku confident Falconets will beat Senegal

Falconets head coach, Moses Aduku, is confident his side will deliver a strong performance against Senegal’s Lionesses.

Nigeria enter the second leg of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round holding a narrow 1-0 lead.

“We will overcome because we have reviewed the match and taken a lot of lessons on board. I commend the girls for regrouping after a tough first half, adjusting tactics and showing character in the second half. We could have won by more goals because we created a number of opportunities in that second period,” Aduku told thenff.com.

He added, “In Senegal, we must defend resolutely and attack with purpose. We will play with focus and determination.”

The Confederation of African Football has named match officials from Morocco to oversee the clash. Zakia El Grini will referee, assisted by Karima Khadiri (AR1) and Ihsane Ennouajeli Nouajli (AR2), with Zoulaikha Harmasse serving as the fourth official.

Oumou Souleymane Kane of Mauritania will act as commissioner, while Kenyan Alice Kimani will serve as referee assessor.

The match is scheduled for Saturday at Stade Lat Dior in Thies, located 70 kilometres from Dakar. Kick-off is set for 5pm local time in Senegal (6pm in Nigeria).
