W’Cup qualifiers: Rwanda to arrive Uyo for S’Eagles clash Wednesday

1 Min Read

Rwanda is set to arrive in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday, 3rd September, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Coach Adel Amrouche is expected to announce his squad for the Group C clash later this week.

The Amavubi will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday, 6th September.

During their last visit to Uyo, Rwanda edged Nigeria 2-1 in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Despite that result, the Super Eagles enter the game with renewed confidence after a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali in March.

A win for Nigeria is vital as they aim to strengthen their chances of securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
