Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has set the pace for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier by being one of the first players to arrive in Rwanda ahead of Friday’s showdown.

Osimhen disclosed that new head coach Eric Chelle tasked the team’s leaders with stepping up to revive Nigeria’s World Cup qualification hopes after a sluggish start that has left them near the bottom of Group C.

Joining him as an early arrival was Olympiacos defender Bruno Onyemaechi, while NPFL standouts Kayode Bankole and Papa Daniel were among the initial batch of players to check into the Super Eagles camp in Kigali.

Coach Eric Chelle personally welcomed Osimhen and Onyemaechi upon their arrival at the Kigali airport, underscoring his hands-on approach.

Team officials remain optimistic that the majority of the squad will assemble in Rwanda by the end of the day.
