WAFCON: Tagnaout may miss Morroco, Super Falcons final clash

1 Min Read

Morocco’s playmaker Fatima Tagnaout is a major doubt for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final showdown against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The Atlas Lionesses star was stretchered off during her side’s intense semi-final clash with Ghana’s Black Queens on Tuesday night, casting uncertainty over her availability for the tournament’s decider.

There has been no official confirmation yet regarding her fitness status ahead of the highly anticipated encounter with Nigeria.

The 28-year-old is now in a race against time to be fit for the clash with Nigeria.

Tagnaout has been a key figure in Morocco’s impressive WAFCON campaign, consistently delivering standout performances that have helped propel the team to the final.

With the Atlas Lionesses chasing a historic first WAFCON title, having fallen short against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the final three years ago, her potential absence would be a significant blow.

On the other hand, the Super Falcons are aiming to extend their dominance on the continent by clinching a record-extending tenth title.
