Nigeria’s Super Falcons and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses have booked their places in the semi-finals of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), following emphatic victories in Friday’s quarter-final clashes.

In the day’s opening fixture, the Super Falcons delivered a five-star performance to dismantle Zambia 5-0.

Osinachi Ohale set the tone early, nodding in a free-kick in just the second minute. Esther Okoronkwo doubled the lead, while Chinwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0 before the break.

After the restart, Oluwatosin Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi each found the back of the net to complete the rout, sealing a statement win for the nine-time African champions.

Nigeria will now face the winner between Senegal and South Africa in the semi-final showdown.

Later in the day, hosts Morocco proved too strong for Mali, cruising to a 3-1 victory. Ibtissam Jraidi netted a brace, while Kenza Chapelle added a third to put the result beyond doubt.

Aissata Traore’s penalty offered Mali a consolation, but it was too little, too late.

The Atlas Lionesses will now await the outcome of the Ghana vs Algeria clash to determine their semi-final opponents.
