Nigeria’s Francisca Ordega may be ruled out of the Super Falcons’ 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final showdown with hosts Morocco.
The experienced winger has had a limited role for Nigeria throughout the WAFCON 2024 campaign.
She was not featured in the Falcons’ first two group stage matches against Tunisia and Botswana but was handed a starting role in the final group encounter against Algeria.
However, a knock sustained afterward kept her out of Nigeria’s 2-1 semi-final triumph over reigning champions South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.
Ordega has yet to participate in training sessions ahead of the title decider and is not expected to be fit in time to face the Atlas Lionesses.
Should the Super Falcons emerge victorious, the 31-year-old would secure her fifth WAFCON title, having been part of the triumphant squads in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018.
A veteran of the international stage, Ordega has also represented Nigeria at four FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments, in 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023.
