Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez, has explained why his side was eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

Xavi gave this explanation in his post-match speech blaming referee, Istvan Kovacs for their exit in the second leg of the encounter.

Despite coming into the second leg of their quarter-final clash against PSG with a 3-2 advantage, the LaLiga giants were dumped in front of their fans.

Raphinha gave Barca the lead, before Kovacs sent off Ronald Araujo for a last-man tackle.

From then on, Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha scored and Kylian Mbappe’s brace send PSG through to the semi-finals.

Xavi, who also saw red in the game, said afterwards, “It’s a pity, our Champions League is over due to the referee’s mistake.

“I just told the referee that he’s been a disaster. It’s the reality.”
