The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday announced a travel restriction affecting Emirati nationals, prohibiting them from travelling to Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq.
The decision, according to state media, comes amid ongoing regional tensions linked to the wider Middle East conflict.
The announcement was made through the state news agency WAM, which stated that the measure is part of precautionary steps taken in response to current developments in the region.
The move reflects heightened security concerns following recent escalations involving Iran and other actors in the conflict dynamics.
“In light of current regional developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces a travel ban on UAE nationals travelling to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Lebanese Republic, and the Republic of Iraq,” state news agency WAM reported.
In addition to the ban, the ministry issued a directive to Emirati citizens who are already in the affected countries, advising them to leave without delay.
Authorities stressed urgency in the advisory as part of efforts to ensure citizens’ safety during the evolving situation.
It said the ministry called on “all UAE nationals currently in these countries to expedite their immediate return” to the UAE.
The development comes against the backdrop of continued instability in parts of the Middle East, including tensions involving Iran and its adversaries.
The UAE’s decision aligns with broader precautionary measures taken by several countries in response to the security situation, particularly following recent exchanges of hostilities and concerns over possible spillover effects in the region.
