Two Kogi varsity students arrested over alleged murder

Two students of Prince Abubakar Audu University in Ayingba, Kogi State, have been arrested over the alleged murder of a 300-level Biochemistry student of the institution, Mr David Ocholi Solomon.

The Punch reported that the university confirmed the development on Saturday during a condolence visit by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Salisu Usman Ogbo, to the bereaved family in Lokoja.

According to a statement issued by the institution’s spokesperson, Uredo Omale, the suspects were apprehended within two hours of the incident and subsequently handed over to security agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The Vice-Chancellor explained that the arrests were made by the university’s internal security unit before the suspects were transferred to law enforcement authorities.
