Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic multi-vehicle accident that occurred at the Siun junction along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.
According to the Spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the fatal crash happened on Monday evening and involved four vehicles: a car with registration number KTU 152 JB, a Mazda bus marked LSR 345 YK, a motorcycle bearing number KNN 515 VD, and a truck with plate number T5582 LA.
Akinbiyi stated that the accident was caused by brake failure on the part of the truck, which veered out of control and collided with the other vehicles on the busy route.
He said, “The accident involved a car with number plate KTU 152 JB, a Mazda bus with number plate LSR 345 YK, a motorcycle with number plate KNN 515 VD, and a truck with number plate T5582 LA.
“A male motorcyclist and the female passenger he was carrying died in the accident,” Akinbiyi added.
Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the deceased motorcycle rider and his passenger.
