The crash occurred at the Chelsea area on Friday afternoon.

South-West TRACE Area Commander Adekunle Ajibade disclosed the details during an interview on Saturday in Ota. According to him, the accident involved a commercial motorcycle marked KTU 643 QQ and a Howo truck at about 1:00 p.m.

“The accident which happened at Chelsea area inbound Atan, involved four persons,” Ajibade explained. “A commercial motorcycle lost control due to speeding and rammed into a Howo truck, resulting in the death of two passengers while the rider sustained injury.”

The TRACE official further stated that the bodies of the deceased victims had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital, while the injured rider was receiving treatment at Ota General Hospital.

“The truck has been towed off the road to ease free flow of traffic in the area,” Ajibade added.

He issued a stern warning to motorists, urging them to exercise caution on the roads. “Motorcyclists and drivers should always exercise patience and refrain from speeding to prevent avoidable crashes,” Ajibade advised.
