The North East Joint Task Force ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ has eliminated 17 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in a sustained offensive across Borno and Adamawa states.
The operations, conducted between July 23 and August 2, 2025, targeted terrorist hideouts in Bama, Konduga, Gwoza, Magumeri, Biu, and Michika local government areas.
In a statement on Monday, Acting Director of Army Public Relations for the Theatre Command, Captain Reuben Kovangiya, detailed the successes achieved by troops with air support from the Air Component and Civilian Joint Task Force.
“In continued determination to deny Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists freedom to operate, the troops of Operation HADIN KAI, bolstered by close air support from the Air Component OPHK and Civilian Joint Task Force, have sustained series of offensive operations across the North East theatre of Operations from 23 July – 2 August 2025,” the statement read.
The operations included fighting patrols, ambushes, and clearance missions that disrupted terrorist logistics networks. Troops recovered significant arms and supplies, including AK-47 rifles, a PKT gun, ammunition, 2,300 liters of diesel, 1,000 liters of petrol, generators, food supplies, and motorcycles.
“Significantly, the resilient troops during the operations discovered and safely detonated over 14 Improvised Explosive Devices, planted by the terrorists in various locations, meant to inflict casualties on innocent civilians and troops,” Kovangiya noted.
Additionally, OPHK facilitated the return of 987 internally displaced persons to Mandaragrau in Biu LGA as part of Borno State’s resettlement program. Joint operations with Nigerien forces around Diffa-Duji-Damasak also improved security and economic activities in the border region.
“The sustained offensive operations, in line with the directives of the military high command, underscore the commitment and determined efforts by OPHK, to ensure peace in the North East and create an enabling environment for socio-economic activities to thrive,” the statement added.
