Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Hadin Kai arrested a suspected Nigerien terrorist on Monday while attempting to breach a security perimeter in Yobe State.

The arrest occurred during an operation conducted by troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion in Katarko, Gujba Local Government Area.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria, a military source revealed that the suspect’s inability to speak any Nigerian language raised suspicions of transnational terrorist connections, prompting deeper investigation.

In addition to this arrest, troops neutralized several terrorists, apprehended others, and rescued victims during operations across various theaters. In Borno State, two relatives of terrorists—an adult woman and a child—voluntarily surrendered to troops of 202 Battalion in Bama after escaping from the Churchur axis. The military source described this development as evidence of sustained pressure on insurgent strongholds.

In Kebbi State, troops of 1 Battalion Rear thwarted a cattle rustling attempt in Sauna Village, Argungu Local Government Area. The rustlers abandoned 251 cows and fled, with the animals later recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Southern Operations Yield Arrests, Seizures

In Ondo State, troops of the 323 Artillery Regiment intercepted two suspected gunrunners in Igbara-Oke, Ifedore Local Government Area.

Investigations revealed the suspects were acting on instructions from an inmate at Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos, allegedly coordinating the arms purchase to fuel criminal activities in Zamfara.

In Delta State, troops discovered a tricycle loaded with approximately 200 liters of suspected illegally refined diesel along the Jeddo-Omadino axis in Warri South Local Government Area.

During a separate clearance operation in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, seven suspects were arrested from a suspected Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network hideout. Recovered items included a motorcycle, four mobile phones, and other logistical materials.

The military source reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining internal security and public order, assuring citizens that operational intensity would remain high across all regions.
