Tottenham Hotspur have completed the permanent signing of French forward Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, both clubs confirmed on Sunday.
The 20-year-old joined Spurs on loan in February and featured in 20 matches across all competitions, finding the net three times during his short stint with the Europa League champions.
German media report that Tottenham paid a transfer fee of around 35 million euros ($40.4 million) to secure Tel’s services, with the young striker committing to a six-year contract.
Before his move to London, Tel had netted 16 goals for Bayern Munich, having joined the German giants from Rennes as a teenager.
Earlier this week, Tottenham also appointed Thomas Frank, the former Brentford manager, as their new head coach following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou.
